Randolph Community College

In 2013, as Randolph Community College was advancing classes in Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics, and Computer Information Technology, the thousands of people who drove by our campus saw a 1970’s concrete sign and probably thought we were getting passed by the times. It was suggested that we develop an iconic sign for the front of our campus that more effectively represents how state-of-the-art we truly are.

“This sign offers us the capability of graphics and full animation and will serve as an RCC icon for years to come.”

With the assistance of our marketing department and our facilities team, much thought was given to all the attributes we felt needed to be incorporated. After much research, we continued to return to Watchfire Signs, who seemed to consistently keep meeting all the critical components of our dream sign.

In January 2014, full construction of the 25 foot tall steel structure began. A logo standing 10’ high x 8’ wide was double faced and internally illuminated to be seen by visitors, students, faculty and the community. The installation of two 8’ wide x 4’ tall 16mm Highbrightness Color LED Watchfire digital Twin-Pak displays offer 140 degrees of visibility to promote information such as class registration, special events, and inclement weather closings.

This sign offers us the capability of graphics and full animation and will serve as an RCC icon for years to come. We could not be more pleased with the project and received valuable input and top quality installation from our general contractors and Atlantic Sign Media.
